PRESCHOOL

Our Preschool Program welcomes children who are 3 1/2-4 1/2 years. Our primary goal is to provide a safe, nurturing environment in which your child can grow and learn through discovery and exploration of their surroundings.
Fuzzy Ducks (3 1/2-4 1/2 yrs)
In our Fuzzy Ducks class, teachers use music, singing, sensory and other activities to promote all aspects of development. Teachers use positive redirection methods to help the child learn and grow.
While in this classroom, your child will be presented with a wide variety of experiences including: circle time, story time, learning centers, art and cooking to help them reach Early Achievers age appropriate milestones. Your child will begin to learn self-help skills, such as putting on their socks and shoes, zipping up their coat and many other skills.
As a Fuzzy Duck your child will also start swimming lessons. These are once per week, 30 minute lessons which focus on having a joyful and safe experience.

Celebrating holidays, including birthdays, to help celebrate the child and their family values

Manipulatives that promote finer motor skills, reasoning and math skills

Books to promote literacy

Sensory tubs

Understanding emotions (Express feelings, understand other’s feelings)

Board and card games to promote teamwork, math skills, patience, cooperation, and more learning to write letters (including their name) and numbers

Self-help skills (put on jacket, shoes, prepping own nap time mats)
When age permits, we talk with the parent about promoting the child up to the next class. Children spend a few days transitioning to get used to the change.
